Hey there! My name is Kamisha M. Mickey, and I am the managing attorney and founder of Mickey Law Group, PLLC (“MLG”). I built this firm to center around doing work that I love for clients I enjoy working with. Naturally, my client-base consists of ambitious and determined individuals who are chasing their dreams.

My practice primarily focuses on providing intellectual property, personal branding, and business law/consulting services to entrepreneurs/small-businesses and individuals in the sports and entertainment industries. I help individuals identify, cultivate, and secure their intellectual property and protect their brands. In addition, I continue to address clients' full range of business needs including company start-up, operations, employment, intellectual property, and defending or instigating law suits on behalf of the company.

MY JOURNEY

I began my career in marketing and business development, which provided the necessary tools to help me become a successful business owner. I attended law school as a way to better assist business owners with everyday issues I witnessed. My legal career initially focused on employment law, which evolved to include other transactional areas including business formation and selecting the appropriate legal entity; compliance; contract negotiations; and advising owners on succession planning. While enjoyable, I ultimately decided to steer my career to something that merged my three loves, marketing, sports, and the law. Enter intellectual property.  

With the explosion of social media, now more than ever a great personality can translate into $$$. Who has a bigger personality than athletes?? Nobody! To me anyways. To answer this increased need for personal brand and IP protection, I expanded my IP practice to offer more robust services to individuals wanting to monetize their personal brands. I secure trademarks, copyrights, and patents and advise on endorsements, sponsorships, and licensing

I am Houston-based but provide IP services to clients throughout the U.S. and practice in courts all over the state of Texas. I am actively involved with the Notre Dame Club of Houston (GO IRISH!), Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, American Cancer Society, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
